VALE The Honourable Marion Henry (1952-2021)

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of The Honourable Marion Henry of The Federated States of Micronesia (FSM).

 The Hon. Henry held the role of Chair of the Forum Fisheries Committee, the governing body of FFA, since June 2019. He led the FFA’s  Ministerial meetings in 2019 and 2020. During this time, FFC adopted the FFA's new Strategic Plan 2020-2025 and the Regional Longline Strategy.

 At the time of his passing The Hon. Henry was the Secretary of the FSM Department of Resources and Development. He was a committed public servant with over 35 years experience. He made a significant contribution to the successful formulation and implementation of resource management strategies and initiatives in FSM and the wider Pacific region.

 He was educated in the United States including at the University of Washington.

 "The Hon. Henry was a gracious and astute contributor to the FFA and its goals. He was determined to achieve the best outcomes for our Pacific people. He will be greatly missed in our fisheries work." said FFA Director-General Dr Manu Tupou-Roosen.
