Air Surveillance Planning Officer

The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) now has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Air Surveillance Planning Officer to join our team in Honiara, Solomon Islands. 

Reporting to the Surveillance Operations Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating, planning, executing, and reporting on the Pacific Maritime Security Program (PMSP) Aerial Surveillance for FFA members. 

Major Key Result Areas for the position include-:

1. Executing the operational control of the FFA Surveillance asset provided by PSMP 

2. Conduct operational liaison with FFA and members' surveillance authorities and representatives of other relevant projects, programmes and stakeholder groups,

3. Develop robust networks and maintain effective relationships with FFA member surveillance authorities and secretariat surveillance team on use of aerial surveillance asset;

4. Communication Pland and Standard Operating Procedures


To be successful in this role, interested candidates must have demonstrated experience in logistics planning and management, surveillance operations, multinational coordination and communication, risk management or equivalent. While not essential, candidates with previous experience working in the Pacific Region, in Maritime Law Enforcement, and/or Air operations logistics, planning, and approvals will be held in high regard.
