PALAU MCS COORDINATOR
Submitted by Anonymous | 29 / Apr / 2016The Bureau of Marine Resources is the body responsible for the management and development of Palau’s marine resources. A Marine Sanctuary Office has been established to oversee the implementation of the Palau Marine Sanctuary. The Police Maritime Unit is responsible for surveillance of the Palau EEZ. Effective coordination between all three bodies is essential if IUU fishing is to be controlled in the EEZ and the marine sanctuary provisions enforced.
The Bureau of Marine Resources requires the services of a locally recruited Fisheries Monitoring Control and Surveillance (MCS) Coordinator to assist the Bureau carry out its MCS functions.
