FFC Incoming Chair Hon. Ribanataake Tiwau (Kiribati) Opening Remarks

Thank you very much, and my respect to you outgoing Chair Hon. Minister Semi Korolavesau from Fiji for all your hard work, unwavering dedication, and commitments in steering the FFC Ministerial Canoe, despite the challenges in chairing meetings via zoom.

And not only that, but your dedication and effort to bring all FFC Ministers together for the first time after two years of zoom meetings. I must say it has been a worth-while gathering, despite the challenges and struggles with travel restrictions and quarantine, as we have managed to achieve our $60M target for the US treaty. And we owe that to you Sir under your leadership and commitment.

I also wish to extend my appreciation to you all Honorable Ministers, Officials and our hard working Secretariat for your support throughout the tenure of the Hon. Minister from Fiji Chairmanship role.

As incoming Chair, I look forward to work with you all in my capacity as FFC Chair, and confident that I would be able to take on my role as Chair with your support and guidance.

“Coming together is a beginning, Staying together is a progress, while Working together means sustainable success”.
