FFA marks the passing of Honourable Semisi Fakahau, Minister for Fisheries of the Kingdom of Tonga

The Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) extends its heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences following the passing of Tonga’s Minister for Fisheries, Honourable Semisi Fakahau.  FFA Members and the Secretariat observed a minute of silence at their regional meeting today to pay their respects to Honourable Fakahau.

FFA Director General, Dr Manu Tupou-Roosen said: “Honourable Semisi Fakahau will be remembered as a great Pacific Statesman who dedicated his distinguished career to the management and development of our fisheries for our people.”

“FFA has been blessed to have benefited from his passion, commitment, and immense and invaluable contribution to our regional fisheries work.  He will be greatly missed.

“We pray for God’s strength and comfort to be with his wife Grace and their children and family, the Honourable Prime Minister Hu’akavameiliku, CEO Dr Halafihi and staff of the Ministry of Fisheries as they farewell Honourable Fakahau.

“May Honourable Semisi Fakahau rest in God’s Everlasting Peace and Love.”
